THESIS AND FINAL YEAR PROJECT. 2011.
Site. The site of investigation is in Beirut. It is the area formed by Charles Helou’s Highway/bus/taxi station and the neighborhood of Pasteur Street. Through time, the area has been transformed and disconnected from the city, fostering a void between the two entities.
Program. Along the promenade, the spine is constituted of cultural and entertainment facilities such as a library, kiosks, pavilions, galleries, workshops, cafes and open spaces.
Intention. The project is thought of as a fluid pedestrian spine giving importance to pedestrian flow. Spaces are designed along this spine as mediators along the continuity of the urban fabric and the station.
